Earlier this month, two new ASM research journals had their official launch. mSphereTM and mSystemsTM had both published articles on their interim websites in November and December 2015 – some of which have been highlighted here on mBiosphere. On February 2nd, the journals went live on their permanent HighWire platform.
As part of the launch, ASM has posted videos of the Editors-in-chief talking about the benefits to authors of publishing in their respective journals. mSphereTM EiC Michael Imperiale highlights the pan-microbial scope, quick review process, inclusivity for nontraditional microbiological fields, and iEditor Vincent Racaniello's featuring selected articles on the TWIV, TWIM, and TWIP podcasts.
mSystemsTM EiC Jack Gilbert emphasizes that the new journal offers a unique home for cutting-edge, 'omics-centric research.
Both journals have had warm receptions on social media, and submissions already are strong. Both mSphereTM and mSystemsTM will update weekly with new publications, so be sure to check the websites frequently to find the latest in ASM's open-access research!
